PEEL MEMORIAL CENTRE FOR INTEGRATED HEALTH AND WELLNESS

In 2017, the Peel Memorial health centre opened and added 300,000 ft² of crucial medical capacity to the rapidly growing Peel region. The $530M outpatient facility provides a variety of specialized services, including urgent care, day surgery, and senior's rehabilitation and wellness, as well as a range of facilities specifically catering to mental health, and women, children, and adolescents. The design of the facility attempts to reinforce the sense of comfort provided by shortened hospital stays. Characterized by wood tones, floor-to-ceiling windows, and open spaces, the Diamond Schmitt design exemplifies much of the new orthodoxy in healthcare design. Stepping inside, the triple-height lobby's open-concept design is emphasized by natural light, with windows framing the space around the central staircase.

HAMILTON TIGER-CATS - TIM HORTON'S FIELD

The $145.7M stadium began construction in 2013 on the site of the former Ivor Wynne Stadium. It opened for the Canadian Football League (CFL) football in late 2014. The stadium currently seats approximately 24,000 spectators for Canadian football, with expansion potential to boost capacity to more than 40,000 seats for special events. The design of the new stadium increased the width of the field to accommodate soccer games by meeting FIFA's international standards for association football pitches; reoriented the playing field from east–west to a north-south orientation; increased the seat width, leg room, and corridor space to make it one of the most spacious among Canadian sports venues. This stadium project also incorporated extensive wireless communications infrastructure and accessibility facilities; as well as adding luxury boxes, and other modern amenities. The stadium field surface is FIFA and CFL-approved artificial turf.
